HUNTING  IN
NAMIBIA

Unique hunting experiences on family-run farms

"Die Keiler  – Namibia" unites three beautiful hunting ranches – Hohenau, Orua, and Cowdray – lovingly run by Namibian families. Experience Namibia and hunting up close: personal, close to nature, and with a family atmosphere.

Family members and accompanying persons are also very welcome.

Where are we located?

Hohenau, Orua and Cowdray are located in three different regions of Namibia and could hardly be more diverse in terms of landscape.

Hohenau is situated in the heart of Namibia’s central highlands, only about 45 minutes from Windhoek International Airport and approximately 60 minutes from Windhoek.

Orua lies on the edge of the Erongo region, around one hour northwest of Omaruru.

Cowdray completes this trio with its distinctive Kalahari landscape.

All three ranches are characterised by their unique scenery, individual atmosphere and special character, offering guests three very different and authentic sides of Namibia.

Who are we?

Three ranches, three families – one country, one passion.

What Our Guests Say

“Hunting with Die Keiler is an absolute first-class holiday experience. I have now visited Die Keiler several times, and every time I have been absolutely impressed. The hunting areas offer an incredibly diverse and abundant game population. The careful management of the younger animals ultimately speaks for the trophy quality of the mature game that is selected for hunting.

During the stalks, you can rely completely on the highly experienced trackers and hunting guides. It is fascinating to see the passion and expertise with which hunting is conducted here.

Another highlight worth mentioning is the excellent cuisine, from a generous breakfast and delicious cakes to truly outstanding dinners 🤤

Whether you visit on your own or with your family, hunting with Die Keiler in Namibia is something truly special.”

– Jan Gätgens

“Very welcoming hosts, wonderful accommodation, excellent food, diverse landscapes and ethical, responsible hunting make every trip for us a truly unique experience.”

– Christian Lietz

I have always dreamed of hunting in Africa. Planning and organizing such a trip can be quite intimidating. I first heard about Die Keiler from a gentleman I met on a flight. We talked about hunting for the entire journey from Colorado to Alaska. I had just moved to Colorado and was interested in big game hunting, and he convinced me that in terms of value and overall experience, nothing compares to Africa—especially Namibia for plains game.

I remember him saying that you would see more animals than ever before, and he also warned me: once you go, you will want to return. It’s highly addictive. We exchanged contact details, and after some time I asked him for a recommendation—he suggested Die Keiler. I continued my own research over the years, attended hunting shows, spoke with others, and regularly discussed my new insights with him. He consistently stood by his recommendation, having hunted with Die Keiler multiple times himself.

About four years after meeting him, I finally reached out to Die Keiler. Several factors convinced me:

  1. My friend, who has hunted all over the world, strongly recommended them.

  2. I was looking for a free-range hunt without high fences.

  3. I wanted to experience as much of Namibia as possible and hunt in different regions.

  4. I was looking for a small, family-oriented hunting experience.

Die Keiler checked all of these boxes. I had the opportunity to hunt in three different areas of Namibia, stay with three different families, and pursue a variety of species. Since this was my first trip to Africa, it was the perfect way to experience diverse landscapes, wildlife, and hunting styles.

The accommodations, guides, staff, food, landscape—and most importantly, the hunts themselves—were outstanding. All of my expectations were exceeded. I was able to harvest all the animals I had hoped for and more, all of them quality trophies.

Since my trip, I have stayed in contact with Die Keiler and am currently planning my next visit—this time bringing my family along. I highly recommend them to anyone interested in hunting in Namibia. An exceptional outfit of the highest standard—I truly cannot say enough good things about them.
