• Trophy Hunting Season: Available from 01 February to 30 November each year.

• Best Time to Hunt: Due to high summer temperatures, the recommended period for hunting is from April to October, offering more comfortable conditions.

• Recommended Duration of Hunt: We suggest a 5 to 8-day stay to fully enjoy the thrill of the hunt, the stunning landscapes, and the warm hospitality awaiting you at any of the “Die Keiler” farms.

• For those combining two “Die Keiler”  ranches, we suggest a minimum of four hunting days per farm to fully enjoy the experience.

Namibian winters (May to August) you can expect temperatures of 2° C (35° F) early mornings to 25° C (77° F) mid-afternoon. September to November, you can expect temperatures of 25° C (77 °F) to 39° C (102° F).

To ensure a safe and comfortable hunting experience, we recommend bringing the following items:

Clothing & Footwear:

• Neutral-colored or camouflage clothing suitable for hot days and cooler mornings/evenings

• Lightweight, breathable long-sleeved shirts and pants

• Warm jacket or fleece for early mornings

• Hat or cap with a brim for sun protection

• Sturdy, comfortable worn-in hiking or hunting boots

• Socks suitable for long days in the field

• Gloves for both warmth and protection

Hunting Gear & Accessories:

• Your preferred rifle or hunting firearm (check import regulations)

• Ammunition matching the caliber of your firearm

• Binoculars and/or spotting scope

• Rangefinder (optional but recommended)

• Knife or multi-tool

• Backpack or day pack for excursions

Personal Items & Extras:

• Credit / Debit Cards and Cash

• Sunglasses and sunscreen

• Insect repellent

• Lip balm & nose cream

• Personal medications

• Camera and/or smartphone for capturing memories

• Travel documents, firearm permits, and insurance documentation

A daily laundry service is provided on the farms, so there’s no need to bring excessive luggage.

Yes. Third-party liability insurance and international health insurance are required. We also recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance.

• Passport: Ensure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your arrival date and has at least 2 blank pages.

• Traveling with Children:
  Minors (under 18 years of age) must present, in addition to their passport, an original international (English-language) birth certificate listing the names of their parents

If a minor is not traveling with both legal guardians, it must also be demonstrated that the absent parent consents to the trip (e.g., a sworn statement/“affidavit,” a copy of the parent’s passport, and contact details of the absent parent). Alternatively, proof that such consent is not required may be provided (e.g., a court order granting sole custody, a death certificate, or a certificate from the German Youth Welfare Office confirming consent is not needed, if the minor resides in Germany).

Please ensure that all documents are in order to avoid any travel disruptions.

It is highly recommended that you apply for a Namibian e-Visa before your trip to potentially reduce waiting times and congestion at border points. Namibia launched its new online visa application system on March 3, 2025, which allows eligible travelers to apply for their visa before arrival.

By applying online through the official portal of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security at https://eservices.mhaiss.gov.na, you can streamline your entry process into Namibia.

The e-Visa system offers two options:

• Visa on Arrival: A quicker process for eligible passport holders.

• Holiday Visa: A longer process, suitable for stays up to 3 months.

We recommend applying ahead of time to ensure a smooth and efficient entry into Namibia.

For many hunters, it is important to hunt with a familiar firearm. You are therefore welcome to bring your own rifle.

The minimum caliber recommended for an African hunt targeting medium-sized game such as Hartebeest, Kudu, Oryx, or Eland is .270 (7mm).

A maximum of 60 rounds per caliber may be imported. In Namibia, the use of handguns, as well as automatic and semi-automatic firearms, is strictly prohibited for trophy hunting. Also, solid-point ammunition is not permitted.

Please contact your airline in advance to ensure compliance with current firearm transport and import regulations.

Alternatively, you may make use of our rental firearms, available at a rate of EUR 30 / USD 40 per day, with ammunition charged per shot.

• A valid international or EU firearms license, along with your firearm ownership certificate

• An invitation letter from the hunting farm in Namibia

• An import permit for customs and excise clearance of the firearm. We recommend downloading and completing the “Namibia Temporary Rifle Import Permit Application” (Firearm Application – 2007-06) prior to arrival to speed up your customs clearing.

• A firearm transport permit issued by the airline (costs may vary depending on the airline)

• Only ammunition matching the specific caliber of the firearms you are importing may be brought into the country.

• Ammunition must be stored in a secure, lockable container and transported separately from your firearms during airline check-in.

• Firearms must be packed unloaded in a sturdy, secure carry case.

• All luggage (bags & Cases) must be clearly marked with name tags for identification.
